I love pop
culture, movies, music, books, television shows, you name it – I love it. I
worked in a movie theatre for over 6 years and met a lot of fans there. One of
the things I loved most about these die-hard fans, was how passionate they were
about the stories and movies. I can get lost in a book, movie, television show
or even music. They are all great escapes from reality, a mental break. It’s
probably what I love most about all of them- you get to take a step back and
really immerse yourself into them. Currently, I don’t have enough free time to go to the
movies anymore, but I do make time for television shows. I am
big into DVR and tend to DVR a lot of shows, or catch them on Netflix or Hulu.
My favorite shows right now are Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med. If
you haven’t seen these yet, you’re missing out! Something pretty unique about
these shows are their big crossover events. At least once a year, they have
a crossover week where all three shows (dubbed "One Chicago") share a storyline. In the
past, they were also paired with Law and Order SVU. Basically, you have to watch all
shows to see the entire story.
Music is a bit
different from books, movies, and television shows for me. I have always loved
music and can remember singing and dancing with my mom when I was a child.
Music has always been a part of me. No, I don’t play any instruments, despite
my efforts, but I do love listening to songs. For me, music is one of the best
creative outlets and escapes. I love to write and I love coming up with
creative ideas. When I listen to music, the ideas and story lines just fly through
my mind. Music allows me to forget about my problems, it can make a bad day
good, it can make me happy or sad, and helps me relax. I love to start my
mornings off with music and end my work day with music. Britney Spears will
probably always be my favorite artist. She was the first concert I ever went to
and someone I grew up loving. Currently, I am pretty obsessed with Mike Posner
(see picture below). He had some popular songs a few years back, but it’s his
new music that I love. Do yourself a favor and check out his music – hopefully you
will love it too!
